The very attractive piece - which was presumably issued but that was simply hardly worn- nor even mounted - came together with its nicely pre-folded- and/or non-shortened ie. unconfectioned (and approx. 29 cms. long-sized) ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt'). The cross - which shows a clear makers'-designation: '76' stamped into its ring - was with certainty never cleaned and has an attractive and only minimally tarnished age-patina: it retains, moreover, a fair bit of its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) and has just a minimally 'tarnished' finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a very nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. clearly 'satin'-like ie. somewhat 'shiny'-style-) core: it is truly void of any paint-damage or alike (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece is just a tiny bit dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross is an evident specimen that was produced by the maker ie. 'Hersteller' named: 'Ernst L. Müller' as was based in the town of Pforzheim and has truly nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this desirable maker. The IC was recently found at a German private-household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply an attractive, maker-marked 'EK II. Klasse' that will be hard to be upgraded!
