This is an attractive - truly used and/or carefully cap-removed! - early- (ie. mid-war-) period, so-called: WH (Heeres) cap-eagle (ie. 'Schiffchenmützen-Adler für Mannschaften u. Unteroffiziere') being a clearly worn example as was executed in bluish-grey-coloured linnen onto a field-grey-coloured (and also linnen-based) background and that comes in an overall nicely preserved condition. These cap-eagles were specifically intended for usage on the various field-grey-coloured army side-caps (ie. 'Schiffchen M34') and saw usage throughout the war. The piece on offer here has not been trimmed but was nicely pre-folded (and used!) in a 'trapezoid manner' and just show some slight usage ie. staining, simply caused by fair wear and/or decades of storage. The eagle can naturally easily serve to restore or complete any Heeres side-cap ie. 'Schiffchenmütze'. Simply a nice occasion to acquire a neat replacement side-cap for a competitive price!
