Single, (I deem) early-war-period so-called: 'M40'-pattern, WH (Kriegsmarine) tailor-made, NCO-type shoulderstrap as was intended for usage by an: 'Unteroffizier eines Küsten-Artillerie-Abtgs.'
This is a neat - albeit regrettably single! - (I deem) pre- (ie. early-) war-period, so-called: 'M40'-pattern (and typically tailor-made!) WH (Kriegsmarine) NCO-type shoulderstrap as was intended for usage by an: 'Unteroffizier eines Küsten-Artillerie-Abteilungs' (or: junior-sergeant who served within a naval coastal-artillery unit) and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used- and/or worn-), condition. The shoulderstrap - which measures approximately 10,7 cms. in length as more often seen - has the darker-green-toned and (smooth)woolen-based 'upperdeck' (as is more encountered with these early-war-period shoulderstraps). The strap has the (typical) bright-golden-toned (naval-type) NCO-braid attached and shows a single 'Buntmetall' and somewhat tarnished) so-called: 'winged-shell-anchor'-cypher (ie.: 'Ziffer') period-attached (denoting the rank of: 'Unteroffizier'). Note: it should be noted that these 'Unteroffizier'-straps should actually not have a machine-embroidered 'cypher' and not a metal-based one: this was, however, often observed and was common practice. The shoulderstrap - which originates from a larger cloth- and insignia-collection I recently acquired for the web-site - comes mounted onto its functional (also woolen-based) tongue. Simply a neat 'M40'-pattern, NCO-type 'Kriegsmarine o. Küsten-Artillerie'-shoulderstrap that was intended for usage by an: 'Unteroffizier eines Küsten-Artillerie-Abteilungs'!
