This is an attractive - albeit regrettably single! - WH (Heeres), early- (ie. pre-war-) period, so-called: 'M36-/M40'-pattern, 'cyphered'- and bright-yellow- (ie. 'zitronengelber'-) piped enlisted-mens'-type shoulderstrap as was intended for - and worn by! - a: 'Soldat des Nachrichten-Abteilungs 49' (or: simple soldier who served within the army signals-unit numbered: '49' being - I deem - part of the 49th infantry division) and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn-), condition. The shoulderstrap - which is approximately 13 cms. sized in length - has the 'standard-type'- and/or darker-green-coloured, smooth-woolen-based 'upperdeck' and has the bright-yellow- (ie. 'zitronengelber'- and woolen) piping attached. The strap shows the neat (machine-embroidered by means of so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei'-) so-called: '4'- and/or '9'-cyphers ie. numerals. Both 'cyphers' are executed in the bright-yellow- (ie. 'zitronengelbener'-) coloured wool ie. linnen as to be expected (as can be seen on the pictures). The strap - which misses its tongue and that was I deem cut-of a tunic - shows as stated above just moderate usage and/or wear and is just minimally stained. It should be noted that all 'cyphered'-pattern shoulderstraps can easily be regarded 'fairly scarce'. Simply an attractive and/or: early-war-period, neatly 'cyphered' and/or 'Heeres'-related EM-type shoulderstrap that was intended for usage by a: 'Soldat des Nachrichten-Abteilungs 49'!
