Single, WH (Heeres) neatly 'cyphered', officers-pattern shoulderboard as intended for an: 'Oberleutnant u. Mitglied einer Art.-Beo.-Abts.'
This is an attractive - regrettably single but nevertheless quite scarcely encountered! - WH (Heeres) neatly 'cyphered', officers-pattern shoulderboard as piped in the bright-red- (ie. hochroter-) coloured branchcolour as was as intended for - and just moderately used by! - an: 'Oberleutnant u. Mitglied einer Artillerie-Beobachtungs-Abteilungs' (or: lieutnant first-class who served within a specific, artillery-observers' unit) and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit clearly- ie. moderately used and/or worn- ie. carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The shoulderboard which is approximately 11 cms. sized in length and that is piped in the neat bright-red- (ie. hochroter-) coloured branchcolour as to be expected shows a neat (bright golden-coloured, 'Buntmetall'-based, Gothic-styled- and/or: smaller-sized) so-called: 'P'-cypher (ie. 'Ziffer') and equally-styled and regular-sized pip period-attached denoting that the strap was intended for a junior-officer who held the rank of an: 'Oberleutnant' (ie. lieutnant first-class). Both devices show some regular age and/or minimal tarnish but are both still nicely preserved. The strap comes mounted onto its functional tongue and does show some moderate age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece was never before in collectors'-hands and was recently found as such. Simply an attractive 'Heeres' officers'-type shoulderstrap that belonged to an: 'Oberleutnant u. Mitglied einer Artillerie-Beobachtungs-Abteilungs': too bad that it is only a single specimen!
