The attractive - and actually fairly scarely seen! - pair of WH (Heeres) shoulderboards on offer here are 'text-book'-examples of the typical Heeres'-type, 'Panzer-Grenadiere'-related shoulderboards and have the silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type) 'upperdecks': they are (I deem) just moderately used- ie. worn and show some minimal age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable bright-green- (ie. 'wiesen- o. hellgrüner'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The boards came mounted onto their (typical smaller-sized) officers'-type tongues attached. The boards measure approximately 10,6 cms. in length each and were clearly worn- ie. carefully tunic-removed (as can be seen on the pictures). The pair shows a matching set of (neatly golden-toned, regular-sized- and/or fully identical) pips period-attached denoting that the pair belonged to a junior-officer ie. 'Oberleutnant' (ie. lieutnant first-class) who served within a: 'Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment' (ie. infantry-related, rifle-regiment). Both devices are minimally stained- ie. tarnished but retain their gold-toned age-patina. The boards show some minimal moth-damage (which is only visible on their backs as can be noticed on the pictures). Taking into account the fact that the pair has silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was used onto a typical 'front-used' tunic. It should be mentioned that these 'Heeres'-type 'Panzer-Grenadiere'-shoulderboards are actually quite hard to come by and can easily be graded 'scarce'. Simply a very attractive shoulderboard-pair that belonged to an: 'Oberleutnant eines Panzer-Grenadier-Regiments'!
