This is an attractive - and/or fully matching and actually not that easily found! - pair of WH (Heeres), early- (ie. pre-) war-period (ie. 'M40'-pattern), neatly 'cyphered' (and I deem typically 'tailor-made'- ie. 'privately-purchased'-pattern) NCO-type shoulderstraps as piped in the neat white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour as was specifically intended for usage by an: 'Unterfeldwebel der Divisionsstabs der 8. Infanterie-Division' (or: junior-sergeant who served within the divisional-headquarters of the 8th infantry-division) and that comes in overall nice- (albeit moderately used- ie. worn- and/or clearly 'cut-off-a-tunic'-), condition. The neat straps - which are both approximately 10,6 cms. sized in length - have the 'standard-pattern', dark-green-coloured- and/or (boiled) woolen-based 'upperdecks' and show the white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured- and/or woolen-type piping attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The shoulderstraps show the ('standard-early-pattern'), bright-silver-coloured NCO-braid attached and show each a: (Gothic-styled, smaller-sized- and/or zinc ie. 'Feinzink'-based) so-called: 'D'-cyphers and a pair of two (also zinc- ie. 'Feinzink'-based- and/or smaller-sized) '8'-numerals (ie. 'Ziffern') period-attached, denoting that the pair was intended for an NCO with the rank of an: 'Unterfeldwebel' (ie.junior-sergeant). All four devices do show some regular age and/or minimal tarnish (as can be seen on the pictures). The pair is entirely based of so-called: 'boiled wool' and is in my opinion a typical 'tailor-made'-pair. The pair misses, however, its tongues and does show some minimal age-, wear and/or minimal staining (as can be seen on the pictures). These type of shoulderstraps are of the fairly early-war-period pattern straps and were worn in the period around 1939/1940 (and were 'worn-out' even during the rest of the war). This particular pair originated from a private-household in Germany where it was recently found: it originated from a soldier ie. NCO who kept and stored this pair for decades. Simply an attractive - and with certainty desirable! - 'cyphered', 'Infanterie'-related NCO-type shoulderstrap-pair: I deem that I priced this attractive pair according to its nice and/or untouched, condition!
