Pair of neatly 'cyphered', WH (Heeres) officers'-pattern shoulderboards as piped in the darker-blue-toned branchcolour as was specifically intended for a: 'Leutnant u. Arzt einer Sanitäts-Abtlgs.'

The attractive - and/or fully matching! - WH (Heeres) officers'-pattern ('Sanitäts-Truppen' ie. medical-troops-related) shoulderboard-pair was intended for a: 'Leutnant u. Arzt einer Sanitäts-Abteilungs' (or: junior medical-doctor and lieutnant serving within the medical-troops). Both boards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres-type shoulderboards and have the (bright) silver- (ie. non-'sub-dued'-type) 'upperdecks': they were presumably issued but were simply never worn and can be regarded as 'virtually mint' (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable darker-blue- (ie. 'blauer'-) coloured branchcolour were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool and came without tongues: they were most certainly intended as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 11,2 cms. in length each and show a pair of (fully matching, bright-golden-toned, regular-sized and/or 'Buntmetall'-based) so-called: 'Aesculapus'-cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') period-attached (these cyphers were added to the boards before the pair was fully assembled. Both devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (albeit minimally darkened) age-patina. Taking into account, the fact that this pair has the bright-silver 'upperdecks' (I deem) that it was a pair that was presumably intended to be used on a dress-tunic. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged to a: 'Leutnant u. Arzt einer Sanitäts-Abteilungs'!
