Moderately used pair of WH (Kriegsmarine) officers'-type shoulderboards as intended for a medium-ranked, administrative-official (ie. officer) having the rank of a: 'Hauptmann' (ie.: 'Beambter des mittleren Dienstes')
Category:
The attractive - fully matching and actually scarcely encountered! - WH (Kriegsmarine) related officers'-type shoulderboard-pair - which was intended for usage by a medium-ranked officer having the comparable rank of a: 'Hauptmann' (or: captain) - is constructed from the specific, black-coloured- and/or: smooth-like- (ie. moleskin-type) wool and does have the (typical-) silver-coloured 'upperdecks' as per regulation (as can be seen on the pictures). The typical smaller-sized boards - which were clearly used and/or worn as such - measure approximately 9,5 cms. in length each and do show two pairs of (identical, silver-toned- and zinc-based) pips, period-attached denoting the officers'-rank of a: 'Beambter des mittleren Dienstes im Hauptmannsrang'. The boards came mounted onto their functional officers'-type tongues and came with a pair of (golden-toned) anchor-type 'screw-on'-buttons (ie. 'Schraubknöpfe') still attached. This particular shoulderboard-pair originated from a private-household in Germany and was never before part of a collection: the boards were clearly used- and/or worn and do show some moderate age, wear and/or staining. It should be noted that these Kriegsmarine-related, NCO-type shoulderboards as were intended for medium-ranked administrative-officers (ie. 'Beambter des mittleren Dienstes im Hauptmannsrang') can easily be graded: 'fairly scarce'. I deem that this attractive pair is accordingly priced!
