This is an attractive pair of typical later-war-period, Wehrmacht (Heeres, Luftwaffe, Waffen-SS etc.) so-called: G43 (ie. 'Selbstladegewehr 43') ammunition-pouches (ie. 'Magazintasche') being a 'virtually mint ie. unissued' example as was executed in pebbled-styled, light beige-brown-coloured so-called: 'Ersatz'-leather. The piece - which was worn in conjunction with a 'standard-issued', single K98 ammunition-pouch - shows fortified- and riveted corners and comes with both its fully functional (genuine leather-based) straps in place. Both lashes (present on the back) are constructed from identical, greenish-coloured linnen (as is more often seen). The piece shows an impressed three-digit maker-code (that reads 'ROS') and date-designation ('44') as can be found in the inside of the right-sided pouch (as can be seen on the pictures: as such is this example produced by the company: 'E.G. Leuner GmbH' as was based in the town of Bautzen. The pouch shows some minimal age and staining simply caused by having been stored as such for decades. These pouches were once easily found, however, the large stock that was uncovered some years ago in the Ukraine has been long-time sold-out. Moreover, is it of interest that this example shows rivets that were never painted black (in order to overcome rust): this example just shows some minimal rust-staing on its rivets (as can be noticed on the pictures). Simply a great occasion to acquire a neat pair of genuine G43-ammunition-pouches for an interesting price!
