This is a very ususual - truly early-period (I deem around 1933/34), neatly cyphered and fully matching! - pair of DLV- (ie. 'Deutscher Luftsportsverbandes'-) related, enlisted-mens'- (ie. NCO-) type shoulderstraps as was specifically intended for: 'DLV-Mannschaften o. Unteroffiziere des X.-Staffel' and that comes in an overall nicely preserved albeit clearly used- and/or tunic-removed-, condition. The 'pointed'-styled straps measure approximately 12,6 cms. in length and are executed in the (typical) bluish-grey-toned wool and show a silver-toned- and braid-based 'piping' attached: moreover, do both straps show a period-attched, silver-toned 'wing'- and/or Roman-styled 'X'-cypher (ie. 'Ziffer') attached (as can be noticed on the pictures). The straps were clearly intended as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern (and never had any tongues attached). The DLV (or: 'Deutscher Luftsportsverband') was created on 25 March 1933 from the 'Deutscher Luftfahrtverband' (association of the various air-clubs) and its members provided the nucleous of pilots and specialists for the new Lufwaffe (which was created on 5th of March, 1935). I could not find much reference-material regarding these straps and I deem that they might merit some further investigative-work. In any case is this an attractive - and very early-period! - pair of 'DLV'-related, enlisted-mens'- (ie. NCO-) shoulderstraps as was specifically intended for: 'DLV-Mannschaften o. Unteroffiziere des X.-Staffel': just the first such rarely seen 'DLV'-pair I ever had on offer!
