Superb, pair of early-period (ie. 'M40'-pattern) WH (Heeres) 'cyphered', NCO-type shoulderstraps: 'Uffz. u. Mitglied des Kav. o. Aufkl.-Schützen-Rgts. 6' and that comes with its accompanying ID-disc ('4. Kav.S.R. 6')

This is a truly very attractive - fully matching and with certainty very rarely found! - pair ie. insignia-set comprising of an early-war-period (ie. 'M40'-pattern), WH (Heeres) 'cyphered', NCO-type shoulderstraps as was specifically intended for usage by an: 'Unteroffizier u. Mitglied des Kavallerie o. Aufklärungs-Schützen-Regiments 6' (or: NCO and junior-sergeant who served within a specific cavalry- ie. reconnaisance regiment, numbered: '6') that came with its accompanying ID-disc (ie. 'Erkennungsmarke') that shows the unit-designation: '4. Kav.S.R. 6' and that come both in an overall very nice- (ie. I deem just moderately used- ie. worn- ie. carefully tunic-removed), condition. The neat straps - which are executed in the darker-green-coloured and/or 'smooth-type' wool - show the typical (woolen-based) golden-yellow- (ie. 'goldgelbener'-) coloured piping attached and measure approximately 12,5 cms. in length each. The straps have the standard-pattern, silver-toned NCO-braid attached and show the neat (machine-embroidered by means of so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei'), Gothic-styled: 'S'-cyphers and/or: '8'-numerals (or: 'Ziffern') attached (which are all four executed in the golden-yellow- (ie. 'goldgelbener'-) coloured wool ie. linnen as to be expected). The straps - which are of the typical 'standard-issued'-pattern - show as stated above only moderate usage and wear (just some minimal age, dust and/or staining is visible and/or present). The straps never had any tongues attached and were most certainly used as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern. Of additional interest is naturally the fact that this neat (and rare!) shoulderstrap-pair came with its accompanying, aluminium-based ID-disc (ie. 'Erkennungsmarke') that shows the (neatly stamped) unit-designation that reads: '4. Kav.S.R. 6': both disc and straps were found together at a private-household in Germany and were never part of a collection: they were carefully stored by the NCO who wore them as such. It should be noted that ALL 'cyphered', NCO-pattern 'Kavallerie o. Aufklärungs-Schützen'-type shoulderstraps can easily be regarded 'rare' and come not that often for sale. In any case a very attractive and early-war-period, 'Heeres-Kavallerie o. Aufklärungs-Schützen'-related, NCO-type shoulderstrap-pair (and accompanying 'Erkennungsmarke'!) that was intended for usage by an: 'Unteroffizier u. Mitglied des Kavallerie o. Aufklärungs-Schützen-Regiments 6': I deem that I have priced this very attractive set according to its obvious rarity and/or desirability!
