Pair of WH (Heeres) neatly 'cyphered', officers'-pattern shoulderboards: 'Major des Infanterie-Rgts. 119'
Category:
The attractive - and actually fairly scarcely found! - 'higher-ranked' (and neatly 'cyphered'!) WH officers'-pattern shoulderboards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres'-type shoulderboards and have the silver-greyish- (ie. truly somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks': they were with certainty issued and/or worn as such and do show some moderate age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as can be noticed on the pictures). The pair comes mounted onto its (smaller-sized) officers'-type tongues attached: the pair was carefully tunic-removed (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 9,7 cms. in length each and show each a (fully matching, bright-golden-toned, larger-sized, regular-styled and/or 'Buntmetall'-based) pair of so-called: double '1'- and/or: '9'-cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') period-attached denoting the (fairly high) officers'-rank of a: 'Major'. All six devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (albeit minimally darkened) age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). Taking into account, the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was intended to be used on a regular 'front-used'-tunic. Simply a very attractive - and neatly 'cyphered'! - WH (Heeres) officers'-pattern shoulderboard-pair that belonged a: 'Major des Infanterie-Regiments 119'!
