Attractive - albeit regrettably single! - WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' officers'-type shoulderboard as piped in the darker-green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for an: 'Oberleutnant des Gebirgsjäger-Rgts. 98'

The attractive - albeit regrettably single but nevertheless scarcely found! - shoulderboard is a typical, 'text-book'-example of the Heeres-pattern, officers'-type shoulderboard and has the silverish- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdeck': it was with certainty issued and worn as such and does show some moderate age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The board shows the desirable darker-green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour (and was constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The board comes mounted onto its period tongue attached and was with certainty intended and worn as such (as can be seen on the pictures). The board measures approximately 10,7 cms. in length and shows a pair of (bright-golden-toned, Buntmetall-based and smaller-sized) '9'- and '8'-numerals (ie. cyphers or 'Ziffern' and a single (regular-sized, equally styled and also bright-golden-toned) pip, period-attached. The devives are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (and/or quite shiny) age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard that belonged an: 'Oberleutnant des Gebirgsjäger-Regiments 98': too bad that it is only a single specimen!
