This is an attractive - albeit regrettably single but nevertheless not that often seen! - 'cyphered'- (and I deem typically early- ie. mid-war-period-pattern) NCO-type shoulderstrap as was specifically intended for usage on the field-grey coloured navy-style tunics by an NCO holding the rank of a: 'Feldwebel eines Küsten-Artillerie-Regiments' (or: sergeant serving within a naval, coastal-artillery unit) and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn-), condition. The strap - which is fully 'text-book' in all facets and that measures approximately 11,7 cms. in length (and has a width of 5,5 cms. as usually seen) has a field-grey-coloured- and/or woolen-based 'upperdeck' and comes mounted onto its functional tongue. The strap shows the typical (golden-toned) KM-pattern NCO-braid attached and shows a neat bright-golden-toned (and 'Buntmetall'-based) so-called: 'winged shell'-cypher and an (equally-styled, tarnished golden-toned, smaller-sized) pip period-attached denoting the NCOs rank of a: 'Feldwebel'. The strap shows some moderate age and/or wear (as can be seen on the pictures). It should be noted that ALL 'Küsten-Artillerie' insignia-pieces are actually quite hard to encounter: those 'cyphered' examples even more so, which grades them easily as 'scarce'. Simply an attractive, neatly 'cyphered' naval NCO-type shoulderstrap that was intended for usage on the field-grey-coloured attire: too bad it is only a single example!
