This is a very attractive - fully matching and with certainty very scarcely found! - pair of (fairly early- ie. rounded-styled), neatly 'cyphered' WH (Heeres) enlisted-mens'-type (ie. 'M40'-pattern) shoulderstraps as piped in the white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour as was specifically intended for - and moderately used by! - a soldier who served within the: 'Wehr-Ersatzdienstelle im Wehrkreises IX' (or: army private who was part of the recruitment-troops serving within the area of the 'Wehrkreis IX' (being a larger area within the region around Kassel and had its HQ also based in this town) and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit minimally used ie. worn- and/or most certainly once tunic-attached-), condition. The straps are just minimally worn and do show some minimal wear, age and/or staining but are void of any damage or alike (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps show the desirable white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured- and/or desirable 'silk-like'-type piping attached and measure approximately 11,6 cms. in length each. The pieces came mounted onto their period tongues attached and show the (larger-sized, Gothic-styled) so-called: 'W'-cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') and smaller-sized (Roman-styled) 'IX'-numerals (ie. 'Ziffern') which are neatly machine-embroidered by means of so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei' (as can be seen on the pictures). All four 'cyphers' are executed in the the white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured wool ie. linnen as to be expected. The pair is constructed from the typical field-grey-coloured wool and is with certainty a 'standard-issued'-pair. These type of shoulderstraps are of the fairly early-war-period-pattern straps and were worn in the period around 1940 (and were 'worn-out' even during the rest of the war). This particular pair originated from a larger cloth- ie. 'cyphered'-shoulderstrap-collection I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply a very attractive - and with certainty very desirable! - 'cyphered', 'Wehrkreis'-related EM-type shoulderstrap-pair that belonged to a: 'Soldat des Wehr-Ersatzdienstelle im Wehrkreises IX'. I deem that I have priced this truly attractive EM-type pair according to its desirabilty and overall very nicely preserved condition!
