This is an attractive - matching and actually not that easily- ie. scarcely encountered! - pair of neatly 'cyphered', WH (Kriegsmarine ie. 'Küsten-Marine o. Küsten-Artillerie') officers'-type shoulderboards (as was specifically intended for uage on the field-grey-coloured tunics) as was piped in the darker-green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for usage by an: 'Oberst eines Küsten-Artillerie-Abteilungs' (or: full-colonel who served within a naval coastal-artillery unit) and that comes in an overall nice- (I deem just moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The shoulderboards are 'text-book'-examples of the 'Küstenartillerie'-type, officers-shoulderboards and have the greyish-silver- (ie. somewhat sub-dued) 'upperdecks'. The boards show the desirable darker-green- (ie. 'grüner'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the typical smooth-type wool as to be expected). The boards never had any tongues attached (they were of the 'sew-in'-pattern) and show a matching pair of (I deem 'Feinzink'-based, bright-golden-toned and somewhat tarnished) so-called: 'winged-shell'-cyphers or: 'Ziffern' and four (smaller-sized and equally-styled) pips period-attached (denoting the high rank of an: 'Oberst') as can be seen on the pictures. The boards measure approximately 11 cms. in length each. These 'standard'-pattern, naval officers'-type shoulderboards were specifically intended for usage on the field-grey KM-attire. Simply an attractive, high-ranked: 'Küstenartillerie'-related shoulderboard-pair that was intended for an: 'Oberst eines Küsten-Artillerie-Abteilungs'!
