Relic pair WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' EM-type shoulderstraps: 'Sld. des Wachbatallions Berlin'
Category:
This is a neat - regrettably damaged albeit still desirable, fully matching and with certainty rarely encountered! - pair of WH (Heeres), early- (ie. pre-) war period- (ie. 'M40'-pattern) and neatly 'cyphered' enlisted-mens'-type shoulderstraps (ie. 'Schulterstücke für Mannschaften des Heeres') as piped in the neat white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour as was specifically intended for - and worn by! - a: 'Soldat des Wachbatallions Berlin' (or: private and/or infantry-soldier who served within the famous guard-batallion based in the town Berlin) and that comes in nice- (and clearly used ie. worn- ie. relic-), condition. The neat straps - which have the 'standard'-pattern, darker-green-coloured and/or woolen-based 'upperdecks' are textbook in all facets. They show the neat white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured- and/or woolen-type piping attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps which measure approximately 10,5 (ie. 11) cms. in length each never had any tongues: they were most certainly used as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern. The straps show the neat machine-embroidered (by means of 'Machinestickerei'!) larger-sized: 'W'-cypher (ie. 'Ziffer') which are both executed in the white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured linnen as to be expected (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps show - as stated above - clear usage ie. wear and/or moth-damage (some age, dust and/or staining is visible and/or present as can be seen on the pictures). This rare pair originated from an older and larger cloth- ie. insignia-collection I recently acquired for the web-site. I deem this a superb occasion to acquire a neat - and most certainly desirable! - EM-type, 'Infanterie'- ie. 'Wachbatallion Berlin'-related shoulderstrap-pair: I deem that I have priced this pair according to its relic-condition: an untouched and pristine pair would cost much more!
