WH-era 'Planzeiger für Wehr- und Geländedienst' (as executed in 'Mica') that comes stored in its period, beige-coloured, paper-based- (and/or maker- ie. 'Esero'- marked-) pouch as issued
Category:
These neat so-called: 'Planzeiger für Wehr- und Geländedienst' (or: in English language 'map-reading-scales') were to be found in almost every map-case (ie. 'Kartentasche') and were a welcome - and in the field much needed! - accesory. The piece on offer here measures 7,5 x 7,5 cms. and is as stated executed in so-called: 'Mica' (being some sort of early- ie. pre-war predecessor of plastic) and bears various maker-marks ie. codes and shows a clear makers'-mark that reads: 'Esero' (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece - which has somewhat yellowed over the years - came stored in its period, beige-brown-coloured- and/or paper-based pouch (which is somewhat damaged but complete: the 'Planzeiger' itself comes in a fully undamaged- and/or very nicely preserved, condition. This example came also with its (often missing!) instruction-leaflet. These desirable, WH-equipment-items were normally carried in (or attached to-) the standard leather-based map-cases (ie. 'Kartentaschen') and can ideally serve as such. Simply a nice and fully complete example that will be hard to be upgraded!
