The attractive - clearly issued and just moderately worn! - pair of neatly 'cyphered', WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards is piped in the typical white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour: as such, the pair was intended for usage by a fairly high-ranked officer holding the rank of an: 'Oberstleutnant der Infanterie-Truppen u. Mitglied einer Infanterie-Schule' (ie. lieutnant-colonel who served within the infantry-troops and member within one of the infantry-schools). The attractive pair - which is constructed from the white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured, 'smooth'-type (ie. moleskin-like-) wool - comes in an excellent condition overall and will be hard to be upgraded (the pair is fully matching in all details as can be seen on the pictures). The somewhat 'shiny' appearance of the 'upperdecks' is fully present and/or preserved (something that is to be expected for a 'Heeres'-related, I deem 'dress'-type shoulderboard-pair). The boards are just a tiny bit 'tarnished' by normal age and/or storage for decades and do show some age and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The neat boards - which measure approximately 11,5 cms. in length each - show a matching set of (neatly golden-toned, larger-sized- and/or fully identical) Gothic-styled: 'S'-cyphers and a pair of (equally-styled, regulars-styled) pips period-attached, denoting that the officer who wore these was a member ie. officer who served within one of the: 'Infanterie-Schulen'. All four devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (and/or quite shiny) age-patina. The boards never had any tongues attached and were clearly intended for usage (and worn as!) as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures). This pair originated from an older shoulderstrap ie. board-collection that I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply a very attractive, 'Heeres'-related officers'-type shoulderboard-pair that was intended for usage by an: 'Oberstleutnant der Infanterie-Truppen u. Mitglied einer Infanterie-Schule'!
