This is an attractive - fully matching and as such actually scarcely encountered! - early-war-period, WH (Heeres), so-called: 'M40'-pattern and neatly 'cyphered' enlisted-mens'-type shoulderstraps as piped in the bright-red- (ie. hochroter-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for - and with certainty worn by! - 'Soldat u. Unteroffiziers-Anwärter und Mitglied des Artillerie-Regiments 3' (or: simple soldier ie. private and NCO-candidate who served within the artillery-regiment, numbered: '3') and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit just moderately used and/or worn- ie. carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The neat shoulderstraps have the darker-green-coloured, woolen-based 'upperdecks' as to be expected and have the woolen-based piping attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps come mounted onto their functional tongues attached and measure approx. 12 cms. in length each. Both straps show the neat (larger-sized) so-called: '3'-numerals (ie. cyphers or: 'Ziffern') attached (which 'Ziffern' are executed in bright-red-toned wool in so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei'. Moreover, do they show two (tarnished) silver-toned 'Laschen' (ie. loops) firmly-attached (denoting that the soldier who wore this pair was an: 'Unteroffiziers-Anwärter' (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps - that came with a pair of silver-toned tunic-buttons attached - do just show some minimal age and/or wear (some minor staining and/or dust is visible- ie. present). It should be noted that all 'cyphered'-type shoulderstraps can be easily regarded 'scarce'. This attractive pair was never in collectors'-hands and was recently found at a German private-household. Simply a very attractive - and/or early-war period! - 'cyphered Heeres'-related EM-type shoulderstrap-pair as was specifically intended for a: 'Soldat u. Unteroffiziers-Anwärter und Mitglied des Artillerie-Regiments 3': I deem that I have priced this very attractive and neatly 'cyphered' EM-type pair, accordingly!
