This is an attractive - albeit regrettably single! - (I deem) early- (ie. mid-war-) period, so-called: 'M40'- (ie. 'M41'-) pattern, WH (Heeres) neatly 'cyphered', NCO-type shoulderstrap as was piped in the desirable white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured branchcolour as was specifically intended for usage by a: 'Feldwebel des Infanterie-Regiments 44' (or: NCO ie. sergeant who served within the army-infantry-regiment, numbered: '44') and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit clearly used- ie. just moderately worn-), condition. The shoulderstrap - which measures approximately 11,8 cms. in length as more often seen - has the neat white-coloured- and/or woolen-type piping attached (as is more encountered with these early-war-period shoulderstraps). The shoulderstrap - which originates from a larger cloth- and insignia-collection I recently acquired for the web-site - shows the silver-toned (ie. non-sub-dued- and/or early-period-ie. 'dotted'-pattern) NCO-braid attached and comes mounted onto its functional tongue: next to this it shows a matching pair of (early-styled, 'Buntmetall'-based) so-called: '4'-cyphers (ie. numerals or 'Ziffern') and an (equally styled and/or regular-sized) pip period-attached (as can be noticed on the pictures). The strap - that is in my opinion a typical 'standard-issued' example - shows some evident age, wear and/or staining (as can be noticed on the pictures). Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) so-called: 'M40'- (ie. 'M41'-) pattern, NCO-type 'Infanterie'-related shoulderstrap that was intended for usage by a: 'Feldwebel des Infanterie-Regiments 44': too bad that it is only a single specimen!
