Truly worn- and/or clearly tunic-removed - albeit regrettably single! - WH (Heeres) 'Schulterstück für ein General der Infanterie' (etc.)

Category:

  1. Shoulderboards & -straps (singles)

This is a truly attractive - albeit regrettably single! - WH (Heeres), general-officers'-pattern shoulderboard (ie. 'Schulterstück für Generale des Heeres') as was specifically intended for (a high-ranked!) army general-officer having the rank of a: 'General der Infanterie' ie. 'General der Panzer-Truppen' (etc.) and that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem clearly issued-, worn- and/or carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The neat board - which is executed in typical, twisted, golden- (ie. silver-) toned 'braid' - has the bright-red-coloured- and truly smooth-woolen- (ie. 'moleskin'-) based 'underlay' (as can be seen on the pictures). The board - that measures approximately 11 cms. in length - shows truly extraordinary detail and is by all means a great example of the employed craftmenship of the days. The board never had a tongue attached: it was clearly 'cut-of-a-tunic' and is just a tiny bit tarnished- ie. stained (simply caused by years of storage and/or moderate wear). It does show a pair of (silverish-golden-toned, regular-sized and/or 'Buntmetall'-based) pips period-attached denoting the (unusual and high!) rank of a: 'General der Infanterie' (etc.). It belonged to a (regrettably unknown!) army 'General' who kept and/or stored this neat insignia-piece for decades. Simply a very attractive and/or truly detailed WH (Heeres) general-officers'-type shoulderboard in an unusually encountered rank that is priced according to its unmistaken rarity and/or desirability: too bad that it is only a single specimen!
