This is a truly attractive - very desirable albeit regrettably single but nevertheless truly rarely found! - example of an early-period (ie. 'M40-pattern and/or rounded-styled and black- ie. 'schwarzer'-piped), WH (Heeres) 'cyphered', enlisted mens'-type shoulderstrap as was specifically intended for usage by a: 'Soldat u. Mitglied einer Festungs-Pionier Schule' (or: simple army-engineer-soldier and student who served within a specific 'Festungs-Pioniere' (ie. fortification-construction engineer) training- ie. schooling-unit) and that comes in an overall nice- (ie. clearly ie. moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The neat strap - which is executed in the field-grey-coloured wool as to be expected - has the neat black- ie. 'schwarzer'-coloured and/or 'silk-like'-type piping attached. The strap measures approximately 12,3 cms. in length and comes mounted onto its original tongue. It shows the neat (machine-embroidered by means of so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei'), Gothic-styled: 'FP'- and/or: 'S'-cyphers (or: 'Ziffern') attached (which are all three executed in the black- ie. 'schwarzer'-coloured - and white-piped! - wool ie. linnen as to be expected). The strap - which is of the typical 'standard-issued'-pattern - shows as stated above moderate usage and wear (just some minimal age, dust and/or staining is visible and/or present and does show a single moth-hole on its upperdeck). This particular example originated from a small but wonderful collection of rarely seen 'cyphered' shoulderstraps I recently acquired for the web-site. It should be noted that ALL 'cyphered', enlisted-mens'-pattern, 'Festungs-Pioniere'-type shoulderstraps can easily be regarded 'rare' and come not that often for sale. In any case a very attractive and early-war-period, 'Heeres-Festungs-Pioniere'-related, EM-type shoulderstrap that was intended for usage by a: 'Soldat u. Mitglied einer Festungs-Pionier Schule': too bad that it is only a single specimen!
