The attractive - hardly used and fully matching! - WH officers'-pattern ('Heeres-Sanitäter' ie. army-medical-troops-related) shoulderboards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres'-type shoulderboards and have the silver-greyish- (ie. truly somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks': they were with certainty issued and/or minimally worn as such and do show some minimal age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable darker-blue- (ie. 'blauer'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as can be noticed on the pictures). The pair never had any tongues attached and was most certainly used as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 11,8 cms. in length each and show a pair of (fully matching, bright-golden-toned, smaller-sized and/or 'Buntmetall'-based) so-called: 'Aesculapus'-cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') period-attached denoting the officers'-rank of a: 'Leutnant u. Arzt' (or: lieutnant and/or medical doctor). Both devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (albeit minimally darkened) age-patina. Taking into account, the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was intended to be used on a regular 'front-used'-tunic. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged a: 'Leutnant u. Arzt einer Sanitäts-Abtleilungs'!
