Truly used- and/or worn pair of WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards: 'Hauptmann eines Panzer- o Panzerjäger-Abts.'
Category:
The attractive - and actually fairly scarely seen! - pair of WH (Heeres) shoulderboards on offer here are 'text-book'-examples of the typical Heeres'-type, 'Panzer'-related shoulderboards and have the silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type) 'upperdecks': they are (I deem) just moderately used- ie. worn and show some minimal age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable bright-pink- (ie. 'rosaroter'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The boards came mounted onto their (smaller-sized) officer-type tongues attached. The boards measure approximately 11 cms. in length each and were clearly worn- ie. carefully tunic-removed (as can be seen on the pictures). The pair - that came with a set of silver-toned, so-called: 'screw-on' tunic-buttons (ie. 'Schraubknöpfe') attached - shows two matching sets of (neatly golden-toned, regular-sized- and/or fully identical) pips period-attached denoting that the pair belonged to an officer ie. captain who served within a: 'Panzer- o. Panzerjäger-Abteilungs' (ie. anti-tank- or tank-destroyer-unit). All four devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (and/or quite shiny) age-patina. Taking into account the fact that the set has silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was used onto a typical front-used tunic. It should be mentioned that these 'Heeres'-type 'Panzer- o. Panzerjäger'-shoulderboards are actually quite hard to come by and can easily be graded 'scarce'. Simply a very attractive shoulderboard-pair that belonged to a: 'Hauptmann eines Panzer- o. Panzerjäger-Abteilungs'!
