Pair of WH (Heeres) general-officers'-pattern shoulderboards: 'Generalmajor des Heeres'
Category:
This is a truly very attractive - very desirable and fully matching! - pair of (I deem somewhat early-war-period and I deem hardly worn!) pair of WH (Heeres) general-officers'-pattern shoulderboards (ie. 'Schulterstücke für Generale des Heeres') as was intended for a general-officer holding the rank of a: 'Generalmajor' (ie. brigadier general) and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. presumably issued- albeit hardly worn- ie. used-), condition. The neat shoulderboards - which both show an 'upperdeck' that is executed in golden- and/or silver-coloured- (ie. I deem somewhat early-war-type) 'braid'-based material - measure approx. 11,8 cms. in length each and show a bright-red-coloured- and/or 'smooth'-woolen-based 'underground' as to be expected. The boards come mounted onto their smaller-sized tongues attached (as can be noticed on the pictures). The boards never had any pips (nor numerals) attached and was thus a pair that was intended for a general-officer with the (lowest) general-officers' rank of a: 'Generalmajor des Heeres'. The boards show truly extraordinary detail and are a great example of the employed craftmenship of the days. The pair is just a tiny bit tarnished ie. stained (simply caused by years of storage ie. minimal wear). The pair belonged to an (regrettably unidentified) army 'General' who kept and/or stored these neat insignia-pieces for decades. Simply a very attractive and/or truly detailed WH (Heeres) general-officers'-type shoulderboard-pair that is with certainty priced according to its desirability and obvious rarity!
