This is an attractive - albeit regrettably single but nevertheless truly scarcely found! - example of an early-period (ie. 'M36- o. M40'-pattern and/or typically 'rounded'-styled) WH (Heeres) neatly 'cyphered' and/or white-piped enlisted-mens'-type shoulderstrap as was intended for usage by a: 'Soldat des Infanterie-Maschinengewehr-Abteilungs 2' (or: simple infantry-soldier who served within a specific, infantry-related machine-gunners-unit numbered: '2') and that comes in an overall nice- (ie. just moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The neat strap - which is executed in the darker-green-coloured wool and that has the woolen-type piping attached - shows the white- (ie. 'weisser'-) toned piping (as can be seen on the pictures). The strap measures approximately 13,1 cms. in length and comes without tongue attached (it was clearly used and worn as a strap of the 'sew-in'-type). The strap shows the neat machine-embroidered (by means of 'Kurbelstickerei'!) larger 'M'-cypher (ie. 'Ziffer') and/or '2'-numeral which are both executed in the white- (ie. 'weisser'-) coloured linnen as to be expected (as can be seen on the pictures). The strap shows as stated above only moderate usage and wear (just some minimal age, dust and/or staining is visible and/or present). It should be noted that ALL 'cyphered', enlisted-mens'-pattern, 'Infanterie'-type shoulderstraps can easily be regarded 'scarce'. In any case a very attractive and/or: early-war-period, 'Heeres-Infanterie'-related, EM-type shoulderstrap that was intended for usage by a: 'Soldat des Infanterie-Maschinengewehr-Abteilungs 2': too bad that it is only a single specimen!
