This is an attractive - albeit regrettably single but nevertheless very scarcely found! - WH (Luftwaffe) NCO-type (ie. 'M40'-pattern- and neatly 'cyphered') shoulderstrap as piped in the darker-blue- (ie. 'blauer'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for usage for - and clearly worn by! - an: 'Unteroffizier u. Mitglied einer Ärztlichen Akademie' (or: junior-NCO ie. junior-sergeant who served within one of the air-force-related, medical training-schools ie. 'Ärztlichen Akademien') and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used ie. worn-), condition. The strap comes without tongue and was I deem carefully 'cut-of a tunic'. The strap - which measures approximately 10,4 cms. in length - shows the 'standard'-pattern, silverish-coloured and/or dotted-pattern 'Luftwaffe'-type NCO-braid, attached. Moreover, does it show the neat (machine-embroidered by means of so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei'), Gothic-styled: 'A'-cypher (or: 'Ziffer') attached which is executed in the blue- ie. 'blauer'-coloured (and additionally light-blue-rimmed!) wool ie. linnen as to be expected). The strap - which is of the typical 'standard-issued'-pattern - shows as stated above only minimal usage and wear (just some minimal age, dust and/or staining is visible and/or present). This particular example originated from a small but wonderful collection of rare 'cyphered'-shoulderstraps I recently acquired for the web-site. It should be noted that ALL 'cyphered', NCO-pattern, 'Ärztlichen Akademie'-type shoulderstraps can easily be regarded 'very scarce' and come not that often for sale. In any case a very attractive and early-war-period, 'Luftwaffe Ärztlichen Akademie'-related, NCO-type shoulderstrap that was intended for usage by an: 'Unteroffizier u. Mitglied einer Ärztlichen Akademie': too bad that it is only a single specimen!
