Superb - albeit regrettably single! - early- (ie. mid-) war-period WH (Heeres) (ie. 'M40'-) pattern (rounded-style) 'cyphered', NCO-type shoulderstrap as was intended for an: 'Uffz. u. Mitglied eines Beobachtungs-Lehr-Abteilungs'

This is a very attractive - and as such actually exceedingly rarely encountered albeit regrettably single! - early-war-period, WH (Heeres) (ie. 'M40'-pattern- and/or rounded-styled) 'cyphered' NCO-type shoulderstrap as was piped in the bright-red- (ie. 'hochroterer'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for - and with certainty worn by! - an: 'Unteroffizier u. Mitglied eines Beobachtungs-Lehr-Abteilungs' (or: junior-sergeant who served within a specific, artillery-observers' schooling-unit) and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used and/or worn-), condition. The neat shoulderstrap has a darker-green-coloured and woolen-based 'upperdeck' as to be expected and shows the bright-red- (ie. 'hochroterer'-) coloured and/or woolen-type piping attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The strap comes mounted onto its period tongue. The strap - which measures approximately 12,2 cms. in length - shows the 'standard'-pattern, (bright)silverish-coloured 'Heeres'-type NCO-braid, attached. It shows the neat (machine-embroidered by means of so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei'), Gothic-styled: 'BL'-cypher (or: 'Ziffer') attached (which is executed in the bright-red- ie. 'hochroter'-coloured wool ie. linnen as to be expected). The strap - which is of the typical 'standard-issued'-pattern - shows as stated above only minimal usage and wear (just some minimal age, dust and/or staining is visible and/or present). This particular example originated from a small but wonderful collection of rare 'cyphered'-shoulderstraps I recently acquired for the web-site. It should be noted that ALL 'cyphered', NCO-pattern, 'Beobachtung-Lehr'-type shoulderstraps can easily be regarded 'exceedingly rare' and come not that often - ie. never - for sale. In any case a very attractive and early-war-period, 'Heeres-Beobachtung-Lehr'-related, NCO-type shoulderstrap that was intended for usage by an: 'Unteroffizier u. Mitglied eines Beobachtungs-Lehr-Abteilungs': too bad that it is only a single specimen!
