  1. Shoulderboards & -straps (pairs)

This is an attractive - fully matching and with certainty scarcely found! - pair of (fairly early- ie. rounded-styled), neatly 'cyphered' WH (Heeres) NCO-type (ie. 'M36'- ie. 'M40'-pattern) shoulderstraps as piped in the black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour as was specifically intended for - and clearly used by! - a junior-NCO (ie. 'Unteroffizier') who served within engineers'-unit ie. bataillon, numbered: '24') and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit minimally used ie. worn- and/or most certainly once tunic-attached-), condition. The straps are just moderately worn and do show some minimal wear, age and/or staining but are void of any real damage or alike (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps show the desirable black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured- and/or rayon-type piping attached and measure approximately 11,2 cms. in length each. The pieces never had any tongues attached and were with certainty used- and intended as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures). The shoulderstraps have the early-pattern (ie. dotted-type) NCO-braid attached and do show the neat I deem (hand-embroidered) '2'- and/or '4'-numerals (ie. cyphers or 'Ziffern') attached (as can be seen on the pictures). All four 'cyphers' are executed in the black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured wool ie. linnen (and are additionally piped with white-coloured thread as to be expected). The pair is constructed from the typical darker-green-coloured 'smooth-type' wool and is I deem a 'tailor-made'-pair that was used for a dress-tunic or 'Waffenrock'. These type of shoulderstraps are of the fairly early-war-period-pattern straps and were worn in the period around 1939/1940 (and were 'worn-out' even during the rest of the war). This particular pair originated from a larger cloth- ie. 'cyphered'-shoulderstrap-collection I recently acquired for the web-site. Simply a very attractive - and with certainty desirable! - 'cyphered', 'Pioniere'-related NCO-type shoulderstrap-pair that belonged to an: 'Unteroffizier u. Mitglied des Pionier-Bataillons 24'; I deem that I priced this truly attractive and desirable NCO-type pair according to its overall very nicely preserved condition!
