Pair of WH (Heeres) officers'-pattern shoulderboards as piped in the neat darker-purple-red- (ie. 'bordeaux-roter'-) coloured branchcolour: 'Oberst u. Mitglied der (Nebel)Werfer-Trpn.'

The attractive - and actually truly scarcely found! - 'higher-ranked', WH officers'-pattern shoulderboards are typical, 'text-book'-examples of the Heeres'-type shoulderboards and have the silver-greyish- (ie. truly somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks': they were with certainty issued and/or worn as such and do show some moderate age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable darker-purple-red- (ie. 'bordeaux-roter'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the typical 'smooth-type' wool as can be noticed on the pictures). The pair came mounted onto their (typical smaller-sized) tongues attached and was clearly used as such: one of the boards shows some minimal moth-damage (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 10,9 cms. in length each and show each a pair of (somewhat darkened, golden-toned, regular-sized and/or 'Buntmetall'-based) pips period-attached denoting the (high!) officers'-rank of an: 'Oberst' (or: full colonel). All four devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine (and just minimally darkened) age-patina (as can be seen on the pictures). Taking into account, the fact that this pair has the somewhat 'sub-dued'-type 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was intended to be used onto a regular 'front-used'-tunic. It should be mentioned that these officers'-pattern, 'Nebelwerfer'- (ie. army smoke-troops-) related shoulderboards are actually very difficult to come by and can easily be graded 'scarce'. This particular shoulder-board pair originated from a private-household in Germany where it was recently found together with the collar-tab-pair I offer under nr. 70366: both insigina-sets were used (and stored for decades!) by the officer who wore these during the war. Simply a very attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged an: 'Oberst u. Mitglied der (Nebel)Werfer-Truppen'!
