Pair of WH (Heeres) officers'-type shoulderboards: 'Hauptmann eines Pionier-Batallions o. Abts.'

The attractive WH (Heeres) pair is neatly piped in the black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour and was intended for usage by a: 'Hauptmann eines Pionier-Batallions o. Abteilungs' (or: captain who served within a specific army 'Pionier'- (ie. engineers) 'Bataillion' (ie. battalion) ie unit) and that comes in an overall nice- (I deem just moderately used- and/or carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The shoulderboards are 'text-book'-examples of the 'Heeres'-type, 'Pioniere'-shoulderboards and have the silverish-grey-coloured (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-pattern) 'upperdecks' (as can be noticed on the pictures). The boards show the desirable black- (ie. 'schwarzer'-) coloured branchcolour and were constructed from the typical 'smooth'-type wool as to be expected. The boards never had any tongues attached and was clearly intended and used as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern (as can be seen on the pictures) and measure approximately 11,2 cms. in length each. They were most certainly issued- and/or worn as such and do show moderate age, wear and/or staining as to be expected. The pair - that was recently found at a German private-household - shows four (neatly bright-golden-toned, larger-sized and/or identical) pips period-attached. All four devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (and/or quite shiny!) age-patina. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) officers'-pattern shoulderboard-pair that belonged to a: 'Hauptmann eines Pionier-Batallions o. Abteilungs'!
