This is an attractive example of the larger-sized- (ie. measuring 18,7 x 11,7 cms.) sports'-shirt eagle (ie. 'Adler für Sporthemd') as was used by the various officials serving within the: 'Deutsche Reichspost' (aka: 'Zeesener Adler') being a 'virtually mint- ie. unissued' example that is executed in the neat 'BeVo'-weave-pattern. These eagles - which are nicely woven in white-coloured linnen on a cornflower-blue-coloured background - are facing left and were worn on the breast of the training-jackets and other sports'-gear. This particular model eagle was instituted by a specific order (ie. 'Erlass') as was issued by the responsible 'Reichsminister' named Richard Ohnesorge on 16 August 1942. Simply a neat - and actually not that commonly encountered! - sports-related breast-eagle that is accordingly priced!
