'Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Bronze' (or bronze-class IAB) being a non-maker-marked, typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) version ie. 'variant' as was (I deem) procuded by the: 'Funcke u. Brüninghaus'-company
This is an attractive - albeit moderately used and/or worn - example of an: 'Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Bronze' (or bronze-class assault-badge ie. IAB) being a typical non-maker-marked, zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) version ie. 'variant' (having typical 'F&B-L-set-up') as was (I deem) procuded by the: 'Funcke u. Brüninghaus'-company as was based in the town of Lüdenscheid and that comes in overall nice- (albeit just moderately used ie. worn-) condition. The badge is a typical, non-vaulted example that retains most of its period-applied golden-bronze-coloured finish: it has a typical 'zinc-based' age-patina as more often seen with zinc-based IABs by this maker. This particular example comes naturally mounted onto its functional (thin-shaped- and/or silver-coloured) pin which shows a 'typical catch and/or pin set-up' as is more often seen as can be noticed on the pictures). The piece is quite detailed and has a very pronounced appearance: the award has been moderately used and shows some obvious wear ie. dirt on some the obvious higher-placed areas: it was, however, most certainly never cleaned nor polished. It originated from a private-household in Germany and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply an attractive and honest bronze-class IAB by the 'F&B-L' ie. 'Funcke u. Brüninghaus'-company and that is with certainty accordingly priced!
