Truly used- and worn pair of WH (Heeres) 'cyphered', officers'-type shoulderboards: 'Hauptmann des Artillerie-Rgts. 5'
The neat - and clearly used and/or carefully tunic-removed - WH (Heeres) officers'-type, 'cyphered' shoulderboard-pair is a typical, 'text-book'-example of the Heeres'-type, officers'-pattern shoulderboards and has the silverish-grey- (ie. clearly 'sub-dued'-type) 'upperdecks': the boards were clearly used and/or once tunic-attached and do show some obvious age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable bright-red- (ie. 'hochroter'-) coloured (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type'- ie. 'moleskin-type'-wool as to be expected). The boards come mounted onto their smaller-sized tongues attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards measure approximately 10,7 cms. in length each and shows a fully matching set of (golden-toned, 'Buntmetall'-based, regular-sized- and/or fully identical) '5'-cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') and two pairs of (identically-styled, also 'Buntmetall'-based and regular-sized) pips period-attached denoting that the pair belonged to an captain who served within the: 'Hauptmann des Artillerie-Regiments 5'. All six devices are just stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (and/or somewhat shiny!) age-patina. Taking into account the fact that the set has silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'sub-dued'-type-) 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was used onto a 'front-used' tunic. Simply an attractive WH (Heeres) shoulderboard-pair that belonged to a: 'Hauptmann des Artillerie-Regiments 5' and that is with certainty accordingly priced!
