Pair of WH (Heeres) pre- ie. (early-) war-period (ie. 'M36 o. M40'-pattern-) NCO-type shoulderstraps: 'Feldwebel der Feldgendarmerie-Trpn.'
The attractive - clearly used- and/or: worn but nevertheless truly rarely encountered! - WH (Heeres) 'M36 o. M40'-pattern NCO-type shoulderstraps - which have the darker-green-coloured- and/or: typical woolen-based 'upperdecks' - have the desirable bright-orange- (ie. 'orangeroter'-) and/or woolen-type piping attached and measure approximately 11,7 cms. in length each. The straps never had any tongues attached and were most certainly intended (and worn!) as a pair of the 'sew-in'-pattern. Both straps come in an overall very nice- (ie. fully 'text-book'!) condition overall: the straps were just moderately used and do show some moderate age, wear and/or staining: some moderate age, wear and/or staining is noticable (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps - which were intended for an NCO having the rank of a: 'Feldwebel der Feldgendarmerie-Truppen' (or: sergeant and field-police-NCO) - were with certainly always together and were worn as such as a pair. Next to the (typical) silver-toned NCO-braid does the set show a pair of (frosted-silver-toned, fully matching, aluminium-based and regular-sized) pips period-attached denoting the rank of a: 'Feldwebel' (or sergeant). It should be noted that these orange-piped, NCO-type-, 'Feldgendarmerie'-related shoulderstraps are very desirable and can nowadays easily be graded 'rare': this is one of those shoulderstrap-pairs that every collector is nowaydays searching-for but that is simply not that often offered for sale. I deem that this very attractive pair is priced according to its obvious rarity and/or desirability!
