'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' (or: Iron Cross 1st class) being a (typical) non-marker-marked example by the maker: 'B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt' and that comes in its original etui as issued- and /or moderately used
This is an attractive - albeit just moderately worn- ie. used - example of an: 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' (or: Iron Cross 1st class) being a neat, albeit (typical) non-marker-marked example as was (I deem) produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt' and that comes stored in its original, simulated leather-based etui as issued and/or recently found and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used- and/or worn-), condition. The magnetic cross has a nice (somewhat darkened) age-patina and retains truly great detail: the black core shows no rust nor damage whatsoever: the black paint is truly almost fully preserved (something that is not always the case). The typical (flute-shaped) pin and catch (ie. set-up) are naturally unaltered and/or fully functional. The etui – that shows a its 'broad-rimmed' cross on its top - comes also in a very fine and complete condition: the silver-rimmed cross that figures on the etui's top is in very nice and totally undamaged condition whereas the off-white- (ie. yellowish-beige-) coloured- and typical felt-like interior is also present and in place (it does show some minimal age and/or staining). The cross - which is a non-vaulted example as more often - is as stated above a non-maker-marked example that has never been cleaned: it is still a bit tarnished and comes as recently found at a German private-household. Simply an attractive - and matching! - IC1-set by the 'B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt'-company and that was never before in a collection and that is most certainly accordingly priced!
