'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Kl.' (or: Iron Cross 1st class) being a (typical) maker- (ie. '7'-) marked example as was produced by the maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Paul Meybauer'
This is an attractive - surely desirable and I deem just moderately worn- and/or used - example of an: 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse' (or: Iron Cross 1st class) being a detailed and neatly maker- (ie. '7'-) marked example as was produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller') named: 'Paul Meybauer' as was based in the towns of Nürnberg and Berlin and that comes in an overall very nice- (surely issued and just moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The magnetic cross has an overall very nice age-patina and retains truly great detail: the black-coloured core shows no rust nor damage whatsoever: the satin-like (ie. minimally matted), black-coloured painted core is truly very nicely preserved (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has, however, lost most of its 'off-factory applied' polished sides (ie. 'hochpolierte Kanten'). The back of the cross is just a tiny bit stained (but was never cleaned nor polished). The (flute-shaped) pin and catch (ie. set-up) are naturally totally unaltered and/or fully functional. The cross is an evident specimen that was produced by the desirable maker (ie. 'Hersteller'): 'Paul Meybauer': it has very nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this maker. Simply an attractive EKI. Klasse by the 'Paul Meybauer'-company and that was never before part of a collection: I deem that I have priced this attractive and fully untouched example, accordingly!
