Pair of WH (Heeres) 'cyphered' officers'-type shoulderboards: 'Hauptmann eines Panzerjäger-Abts.' (having a rarely seen pair of smaller-sized 'P'-cyphers ie. 'Ziffern' period-attached)
The attractive - and actually fairly scarely seen! - pair of WH (Heeres) shoulderboards on offer here are 'text-book'-examples of the typical Heeres'-type, 'Panzer'-related shoulderboards and have the silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'shiny'-type) 'upperdecks': they are (I deem) just moderately used- ie. worn and show some minimal age, wear and/or staining (as can be seen on the pictures). The boards show the desirable bright-pink- (ie. 'rosaroter'-) coloured branchcolour (and were constructed from the 'smooth-type' wool as to be expected). The boards never had any tongues and were with certainty intended to be used as a pair of the 'sew-in'-type. The boards measure approximately 10,7 cms. in length each and were clearly worn- ie. carefully tunic-removed (as can be seen on the pictures). The pair - that came with a set of silver-toned tunic-buttons attached - shows a matching set of (neatly golden-toned, smaller-sized- and/or fully identical) Gothic-styled: 'P'-cyphers (ie. 'Ziffern') and two pairs of (identically-styled, regular-sized) pips period-attached denoting that the pair belonged to an officer ie. captain who served within a: 'Panzerjäger-Abteilung' (ie. anti-tank- or tank-destroyer-unit). All six devices are just minimally stained- ie. tarnished but have preserved a fine and fairly bright- (and/or quite shiny) age-patina. Taking into account the fact that the set has silverish-grey- (ie. somewhat 'shiny'-type-) 'upperdecks' I deem that it was a pair that was used onto a dress-type tunic (ie. 'Waffenrock'). It should be mentioned that these neatly 'cyphered', 'Heeres'-type 'Panzerjäger'-shoulderboards are actually quite hard to come by and can easily be graded 'scarce'. Simply a very attractive shoulderboard-pair that belonged to a: 'Hauptmann eines Panzerjäger-Abteilungs'!
