Attractive - and matching! - early- (ie. pre-) war-period WH (Heeres) 'M36'- (ie. 'M40'-) pattern 'cyphered' NCO-type shoulderstraps as intended for an: 'Uffz. u. Mitglied des Art.-Beo.-Abts. 16' that comes with a period photo
This is an attractive - fully matching and as such actually scarcely encountered! - early- (ie. pre-war-) period WH (Heeres), 'M36'- (ie. 'M40'-) type (rounded-style) and neatly 'cyphered', NCO-type shoulderstraps as piped in the bright-red- (ie. 'hochroterer'-) coloured branchcolour as was intended for - and with certainty worn by! - an: 'Unteroffizier u. Mitglied des Art.-Beobachtungs-Abteilungs 16' (or: junior-sergeant who served within a specific, artillery-observers' unit, numbered: '16') that comes with a period photo as worn and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used and/or worn- ie. carefully tunic-removed-), condition. The neat shoulderstraps have a darker-green-coloured and (smooth) woolen-based 'upperdecks' as to be expected and show the bright-red- (ie. 'hochroterer'-) coloured and/or woolen-type piping and typical silver-toned NCO-braid attached (as can be seen on the pictures). The straps come mounted onto their functional tongues attached and were with certainty worn as such. The straps measure 10,2 cms. in length and show the neat, larger-sized (machine-embroidered by means of so-called: 'Kurbelstickerei'), Gothic-styled: 'B'- and/or '16'-numerals (ie. cyphers or: 'Ziffern') attached which are executed in the bright-red- (ie. 'hochroter'-) coloured wool as to be expected. The straps shows some moderate age and/or wear (some minor staining and/or dust is visible-/present). Of specific interest is, moreover, the fact that this neat pair came with a period portrait-photo of an unidentified 'Unteroffizier' wearing these particular 'cyphered' straps (something that is unusually found!). The portrait-photo measures 13,2 x 9 cms. and shows nice detail: on its back it shows the handwritten text: 'Meinen lieben Vater zum 60. Geburtstag' (as can be noticed on the pictures). It should be noted that all 'cyphered'-type shoulderstraps can be easily regarded 'scarce'. Simply an attractive and/or early- (ie. pre-) war period, 'cyphered Heeres'-related NCO-type shoulderstrap-pair as was intended for an: 'Unteroffizier u. Mitglied des Art.-Beobachtungs-Abteilungs 16': I deem that I have priced this attractive and neatly 'cyphered' pair and photo-set, accordingly!
