Attractive - very detailed and not that often seen! - WH (Heeres) lapel-pin (ie. 'Traditions- o. Erinnerungsabzeichen') as was worn and used by the members of the '90. Panzergrenadier-Division' (aka: 'Sardinienschild')
This is an attractive - and actually not that easily encountered! - WH (Heeres) lapel-pin ie. campaign-shield (ie. 'Traditions- o. Erinnerungsabzeichen') as was worn by the various members of the '90. Panzergrenadier-Division' (aka: 'Sardinienschild') and that comes in an overall very nice- (and I deem only moderately used- and/or worn-), condition. The lapel-pin - which comes as recently found at a private-household in Germany - depicts the map of the island of Sardinia with a diagonally-placed sword across mentioning the towns of Olbia and Cagliari and comes in an overall nice, albeit moderately used- and/or worn-, condition: it was made of silver-toned metal and retains all of its silverish-finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece - which comes on its functional pin- ie. catch-set-up - has a slightly darkened age-patina but has never been cleaned and retains its detailed appearance. These 'semi-official' pins were worn on both the 'M43-type'-caps and/or civil ie. military attire. A similar example of this neat pin is also figured in the Heering-Hüsken lapel-pin-catalogue, wherein it is given a unique number: 9841A and an estimated value of 380 Euro (!). As possibly known have these pins a 'semi-official status': these pins were, however, awarded with an accompanying, specific award-document and were also appropiately entered in both: 'Wehrpass' and/or 'Soldbuch'. Simply a very attractive and desirable 'Panzergrenadiere'-related item that is I deem accordingly priced!
