Attractive - and clearly worn! - WH cuff-title (ie. 'Ärmelstreifen') entitled: 'Afrika' (being a minimally shortened example that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. issued and clearly worn ie. once tunic-attached-), condition)
The truly attractive WH (Heeres etc.) cuff-title (ie. 'Ärmelstreifen') comes in a truly worn and/or clearly once-tunic-attached- (albeit almost full-length ie. minimally shortened), condition: it measures approximately 36 cms. and was clearly once worn and/or carefully tunic-removed: it comes still period-stitched-together as period-done (as can be noticed on the pictures). Both ends show some normal fraying as is more often encountered and the piece still shows some minimal stitching-remains (as can be seen on the pictures). The armband shows some obvious age, wear and staining and was stored as such for decades. The cuff-title is executed in the (typical) neat (ie. 'smooth-type'-) beige-brownish-coloured, so-called: 'Kamelhaar' (camel hair) as is more often encountered. It should be stated that these 'Afrika'-cuff-titles are not to be regarded as commemorative cuff-titles (such as the 'Afrikakorps' cuff-title) but were regarded as official awards that needed official recognition (and entries in both 'Soldbuch' and/or: 'Wehrpass'). The attractive piece was recently uncovered in Germany and was never before part of any collection. Simply a very attractive and most certainly issued- and/or worn example that clearly shows lots of character!
