Stunning - fully matching and rarely encountered! - pair of WWI-period, general-officers'-pattern shoulderboards as intended for a general-officer holding the rank of: 'Generaloberst' and that comes in an overall very nice condition
This is a truly very attractive - fully matching and rarely encountered! - pair of WWI-period, general-officers'-pattern shoulderboards (ie. 'Schulterstücke für Generale') as was intended for - and clearly worn by - a general-officer holding the rank of: 'Generaloberst' and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. just moderately used and/or clearly tunic-removed-), condition. The neat shoulderboards - which both show an 'upperdeck' that is executed in golden- and/or silver-coloured 'braid' that shows the black-toned 'V'-signs as to be expected - measure approx. 11 cms. in length each and show a bright-red-coloured- and/or 'smooth'-woolen-based 'underground' as to be expected. The boards come mounted onto their (typical smaller-sized) tongues attached (as can be noticed on the pictures). The boards show 2 fully matching pairs of 3 (aluminium-based and/or regular-sized) pips period-attached and was thus a pair that was intended for a general-officer with the (highest) general-officers' rank of: 'Generaloberst'. The boards show truly extraordinary detail and are a great example of the employed craftmenship of the days. The pair is just a tiny bit tarnished ie. stained (simply caused by years of storage ie. moderate wear). The pair belonged to an (regrettably unidentified) army 'Generaloberst' who kept and/or stored these neat insignia-pieces for decades. Simply a very attractive and/or truly detailed WWI-period, general-officers'-type shoulderboard-pair that is with certainty priced according to its unmistaken desirability and rarity!
