Superb, 'hollow-back' 'Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver-class panzer-assault badge or PAB) being a clearly maker- (ie. 'A'-) marked- and/or typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based specimen as was procuced by the: 'Assmann'-company
This is a truly attractive, so-called: 'Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver-class panzer-assault badge or PAB) being a clearly maker- (ie. 'A'-) marked- and/or typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based ('hollow-back') specimen as was produced by the: 'Assmann u. Söhne'-company as based in the town of Lüdenscheid and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit moderately used- ie. worn-), condition. The badge on offer here concerns a mid-war-period, typical zinc- (ie. 'Feinzink'-) based specimen that retains most (ie. almost all!) of its (bright) silver-coloured finish (something that is not often the case with these by Assmann produced PABs!) and has still an attractive appearance showing pronounced detail as to be expected by a badge by this particular maker. The badge has never been cleaned nor polished (and is still also a tiny bit dirty ie. stained- ie. tarnished as mentioned above). As stated is the piece a neatly maker-marked example (that shows the 'A'-logo on its back) that shows the various characteristics - such as for example the typical pin-set-up, silver-coloured thin-shaped pin and/or modelled catch - as only seen on PABs as produced by the: 'Assmann u. Söhne'-company: it deals with a so-called: 'hollow zinc pattern' (as is uniquely numbered with the reference-number: '1.3.2.' according to the excellent reference-work entitled: 'The Panzer-Assault badge of WWII' by my Belgian friend Philippe de Bock). The attractive piece naturally shows all the details as to be expected for a badge by this particular maker. It was recently found as such at a German private-household and was never before part of a collection. Simply a very attractive and honest silver-class PAB by the 'Assmann u. Söhne'-company that is accordingly priced!
