The attractive piece - which was I deem surely issued but that was hardly worn - came mounted onto its neatly pre-folded and/or typical Austrian-styled ribbon (ie. 'Bandabschnitt'). The cross was with certainty never cleaned and has still an attractive age-patina: it has lost its so-called: 'hochpolierte Kanten' (or: polished sides) and has a tarnished (ie. dirty) finish (as can be seen on the pictures). The cross has a nicely preserved, black-finished (ie. somewhat 'satin-like'- ie. truly 'matted-style'-) core that shows some (minimal) paint-damage within its 'core' ie. within the swastika-area (as can be seen on the pictures). The piece is just dusty and/or stained but was never cleaned nor polished. The cross is in my opinion an evident specimen that was produced by the Austrian maker: 'Rudolf Souval' as based in the town of Vienna (ie. Wien): it has very nice and/or pronounced detail as to be expected for a cross by this desirable maker. The IC was recently found at a German private household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply an attractive, non-maker-marked 'EK II. Klasse' that will be hard to be upgraded!
