Attractive, 'Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver infantry assault badge ie. IAB) being a nicely maker- (ie. 'A'-) marked example as executed in zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink') as was produced by the: 'Assmann & Söhne'-company
This is an attractive - and actually quite scarcely found! - example of an: 'Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber' (or: silver-class infantry assault badge ie. IAB) being a nicely maker- (ie. 'A'-) marked example as executed in zinc-based metal (ie. 'Feinzink') and that was produced by the desirable: 'Assmann & Söhne'-company as based in the town of Lüdenscheeid and that comes in an overall nice- (albeit just moderately used- and/or worn-), condition. This example has a catch and/or hinge set-up and seems to be totally uncleaned and has still an attractive and/or somewhat 'tarnished' age-patina: most of its period-applied greyish-silver finish has been nicely preserved. The pin and/or catch (ie. set-up-) are of course fully functional and present. The piece - which originates from a private-household where it was recently found - shows some moderate wear and/or staining and was never cleaned. Simply a nice occasion to acquire a truly scarcely encountered 'IAB-variant' that was produced by the: 'Assmann & Söhne'-company based in the town of Lüdenscheid and that is priced according to its comparative scarcity and/or desirability!
