This is an attractive lapel-pin (ie. 'Zivilabzeichen') denoting membership within the WWI veterans'-association: 'Der Stahlhelm' - Bund der Frontsoldaten (Sta)' being a neatly maker- (ie. 'G.D.'-) marked example that is executed in minimally tarnished, silvered metal (ie. 'Buntmetall') and that comes in an overall very nice- (albeit clearly used- ie. worn-), condition. The badge on offer here depicts an early-pattern steel-helmet and is a so-called: 'Zivilabzeichen' of the second model (as was worn upto 1926). The badge has never been cleaned nor polished and still retains a truly nice and only slightly darkened- ie. tarnished, age-patina. It is - as stated above - neatly maker- (ie. 'G.D.'-) marked on its side and shows an additional 'Ges.Gesch.' patent-pending mark as is more often encountered on these attractive SH-badges. The pin comes naturally firmly mounted onto its functional pin- ie. catch(-set-up). A similar badge is also figured in the 'Heering-Hüsken' lapel-pin catalogue wherein it is given a unique reference-number (4107AA) and an estimated value of 60 Eu. I deem that this decorative badge is priced according to its nicely preserved and/or untouched condition!
