Attractive, bright-yellow- and white-coloured EM- (ie. NCO-) type side-arm knot (ie. 'Portepee' ie.: 'Troddel') as was used for the various WH-bayonets and that comes in an overall very nice- (ie. This is a truly attractive example of a bright-yellow- and white- (ie. greyish-silver-) coloured, enlisted-mens'- (ie. NCO-) type side-arm knot (ie. 'Portepee' ie.: 'Troddel') as was intended for usage onto the various WH-bayonets and that comes in an overall very nice- (I deem 'virtually mint- ie. unissued'- and/or most certainly never 'mounted'-), condition. These NCO-type side-arm knots (ie. 'Portepee' or: 'Troddel') were specifically intended for usage on the K98 bajonets (ie. their leather bayonet-frogs) and were worn by the various troops like the: 'Unteroffiziere' (ie. NCO-usage). The various (branch)colours used denoted a specific regiment ie. bataillon. The piece on offer here comes mounted onto a (greyish-coloured) and typical leather-based 'strap' and shows some minimal storage-age only and comes still folded as issued (as can be seen on the photos) and is void of any damage and is of course still functional. The piece was recently uncovered at a German private-household and was never before in collectors'-hands. Simply an attractive example of a 'standard-issue'-type WH-side-arm knot (ie. 'Portepee' ie.: 'Troddel') that is with certainty accordingly priced!
