Neatly enamelled- (and multi-coloured!) 'Mitgliedsabzeichen des Nationalsozialistische Lehrerbundes' (ie. 'N.S.L.B.') being a detailed example that shows the makers'-designation: 'Hoffstätter - Bonn' on its back
The attractive (and actually scarcely seen!) lapel-pin (of the first pattern) has a very nicely preserved age-patina. It has most certainly never been cleaned nor polished: it is showing normal wear but is totally void of any real (enamel-) damage (as can be seen on the pictures): just some regular wear ie. minimal scratches are noticable. The circular-shaped badge (having an approximate diameter of 2,3 cms.) shows moreover a somewhat tarnished- (ie. minimally stained-) finish ie. age-patina as can be seen from the pictures. This example - which has the size of a regular N.S.D.A.P.'-membership-pin- ie. party-badge (or: 'Parteiabzeichen') - shows a black-coloured (ie. enamelled) eagle- and swastika, green-coloured oakleaves and bright-red-coloured text: 'N.S.L.B.' and comes mounted on its typical 'button-hole'-set-up which is naturally still fully functional and/or present. Next to the makers'-designation it also shows an impressed: 'Ges.Gesch.'-patent-pending marking. A similar example is also figured in the 'Heering-Hüsken'-lapel-pin-catalogue, wherein it is given the unique reference-number (3511A) and an estimated value of 75 Eu. Simply an attractive membership lapel-pin that belonged to a member of the: 'Nationalsozialistische Lehrerbund' (ie. 'N.S.L.B.')!
